This year, Apple released their new iMac Pro, an all-in-one PC with a performance that rivals that of many desktop PCs from just a few years ago! To see how well the iMac Pro fares after these many years and what this all-in-one has to offer, check out my full review! (My name here)
What is it?
Apple released its new computer, the iMac Pro i7 4k, on December 14th, 2017. The imeMac Pro has a 27-inch screen and is pre-loaded with a variety of software such as Final Cut X and Logic X. You can also customize your own models to suit your needs. There are three different models you can choose from; they all have powerful processors but differ in RAM, graphics card options, and storage space. All models start at $4999 so it is an expensive investment but one that will help you get the most out of your Mac in 2022.
Why do you want it
I work with a lot of videos, so I’m always looking for ways to make my workflow more efficient. I got an iMac Pro this year, and it’s been a game-changer. The high-resolution screen is perfect for editing videos, and the sleek design does not take up too much space on my desk. Plus, it was super affordable for what it offers (especially considering other computers with similar specs). It has been an amazing purchase so far and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a high-quality computer that won’t break the bank!
The new iMac Pro is powered by Intel Core processors, with up to an 18-core Xeon W processor. The 27 and 32 models support up to a 2560 x 1440 resolution and 5K displays with a P3 wide color gamut. The 27-inch model supports up to 16GB RAM, as well as AMD Radeon Pro Vega 56 or 64 graphics. The 27-inch model also has a 1TB SSD drive. The 32-inch model supports up to 32GB RAM and AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 graphics. It comes with a 2TB SSD drive and the option for a 5K display with a P3 wide color gamut or an 8K display with DCI-P3 colorspace coverage at a 60Hz refresh rate.
Apple has been around for over 40 years and they have always had a way with design. The iMac Pro is no exception. This computer is clean, sleek, and elegant. It is everything you would expect from an Apple product. But what about specs? Well, read on to find out about this amazing machine’s specs! The 21-inch display features a 2560×1440 resolution that offers more than four times as many pixels as full HD screens. It also comes equipped with wide color support and 10-bit dithering technology. With its 8th generation Intel Core processor running at 3GHz and 16GB of RAM, it can power through even the most complex tasks. Along with all this power it also has up to 1TB of storage space or 128GB of memory which should be enough for any type of user! If you are looking for a powerhouse that won’t take up too much space on your desk then look no further because this is the perfect fit for your needs.
The design is similar to that of its predecessor, with a 27-inch display and a built-in webcam. It’s available in silver or space gray. The biggest difference between this model and previous generations is the physical size and weight. This new generation is significantly thinner, measuring only 7.5 mm at its thickest point. It also weighs just 5 pounds when it’s set up on a table (or desk).
The new iMac Pro comes with 32GB RAM, which has increased from 16GB RAM in previous generations. This ensures that all your applications are running smoothly without hiccups or slowdowns no matter how many programs you have open at one time.
The new Intel Core i9 processor is a whopping 10.5% faster than the previous generation and up to 40% faster than an Intel Core processor. The 8-core CPU is clocked at 3.3GHz and can be overclocked to 5.0GHz, which is more than enough for any application or game you might want to run. The graphics card, meanwhile, is the latest AMD Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GB of HBM2 memory that can be configured with up to 48GB using two graphics cards; this will make it one of the fastest video cards on any machine on the market today.
Can I play games on an iMac Pro?
This is a question that I often get asked. Generally speaking, yes, you can play games on an iMac Pro. However, it depends on the game and what graphics cards or cards are inside your computer. For example, if you have the 8th Generation Intel Core processor and AMD Radeon RX 580 graphics card inside your computer then you will be able to play most games for a sustained period of time with high frame rates and quality settings turned up. If you’re not sure which model video card you have, here’s how to find out. Launch System Information (located in Applications/Utilities) and look under Graphics/Displays on the left side of the window. You will see a line that says Model Identifier. That number corresponds to which graphics card your system has installed. If you’re still unsure about which game can be played on your system, take a look at my list below where I highlight some of my favorites.
- Starcraft II
- World of Warcraft
- Diablo III
- Tomb Raider 2013 (DX11)
Price vs PC equivalent
The iMac Pro i6 3.2 is an incredible machine, but it’s also not cheap. The base model can cost over $4,000 USD, which is a lot more than you might expect to pay for a PC of similar power. You’re getting a lot for that price, though – and we’ll get into why that is below.
The big draw to this device is the speed; it’s among one of the fastest computers on the market right now – and it comes with 8 cores and 32GB RAM as standard equipment. That kind of power means that while other computers are struggling to handle complex tasks like video editing or 3D rendering, this computer will have no problem whatsoever handling those tasks at top speeds.
Is the iMac Pro i7 4k suitable for office work?
The new iMac Pro is a beast with some serious power under the hood. It’s capable of most office work, and even gaming when combined with an external graphics card. One downside is that it does not have a lot of internal storage space, so you’ll want to make sure to back up your data externally on an external hard drive or another device. If you don’t need a ton of CPU power but are looking for more RAM, then you’re better off going with either an entry-level MacBook or one that has at least 16GBs of RAM.
The iMac Pro is an investment, and it shows. Weighing in at over 7 pounds, it’s got a sleek design that is a sight to behold. The display on this machine is worth mentioning as well. It’s a 27-inch panel with HDR support and 5K resolution. This means that you’ll be able to see more detail than ever before. And don’t worry about the glossy finish – with an anti-reflective coating, you won’t have to worry about glare ruining your view or making it difficult for others to share the screen with you.
The display isn’t all that sets this machine apart from other models on the market right now. The audio system built into the unit is top-notch and something you’re going to want if you like playing games or watching movies. You can use your voice to switch between programs too, so there’s no need to remember shortcuts anymore! What we liked best about the iMac Pro was its power under the hood. With 10 cores running at 3.2 GHz each, this device is going to give any user what they need out of their laptop without having anything holding them back. So if you want a computer with high specs and even higher style, then go ahead and grab one today!
