Leslie Grace Of Batgirl Reveals New BTS Footage From Cancelled DC Film

Leslie Grace, Batgirl, has revealed new behind-the-scenes footage from the canceled DC film, as fans continue campaigning for its release.

Leslie Grace has shared new Batgirl behind-the-scenes footage, teasing the hard-hitting action in the canceled DC Extended Universe film. The recently canceled film was supposed to follow Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City Police Commissioner Jim Gordon, as she decides to take up the titular mantle and face off against the pyromaniac Firefly. Along with Grace, the Batgirl cast was set to include Brendan Fraser as Firefly, Ivory Aquino, Rebecca Front, Jacob Scipio, Corey Johnson, Ethan Kai, and J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon and Bruce Wayne as Batman from the DCEU.

The Batgirl film had a rocky development cycle, with Joss Whedon hired to write and direct only to be fired due to his inability to come up with a story. While it was later revived with Bad Boys for Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah at the helm and Birds of Prey’s Christina Hodson penning the script, the film was shelved following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, with new CEO David Zaslav lacking confidence in the film and its theatrical prospects. Audiences have been mourning the cancellation of Batgirl since it was announced, particularly as one star has continued to share new images from the film.

Leslie Grace took to TikTok nearly two months after WBD shelved it to share new Batgirl BTS footage. The brief collection includes new looks at some of the hard-hitting action from the canceled DCEU film, including fight training for Grace and a snippet of what appears to be an encounter with Firefly. Batgirl Would Have Been An Exciting Action Film

The canceled DCEU movie had all the makings of a significant action outing, as evidenced by the new footage and another recently released Batgirl BTS video involving a chaotic Christmas tree stunt. While some comic book fans complain about character changes in adaptations, many were excited by the details teased for the villain, giving him a more sympathetic origin story and celebrating Fraser’s continued resurgence alongside his already acclaimed The Whale. While WBD has remained firm in its decision not to release the film, one can hope that the outpouring of support from audiences with each new piece of Batgirl BTS footage will persuade the studio to reconsider.
